I’m supposed to be writing an article for a local horse publication. I’d offered up the idea a few months back; the deadline is mid July. Of course, I have a few days before it’s really, really due, so why not just put it off a little more, right?
I’ve never written anything for publication before. I’ve wanted to, but never had the guts to really pursue it. I hate rejection, so it’s easier not to try. But I’d wanted this particular magazine to do something prior to the adoption event last month in Monroe, so I contacted them and was told they’d love to do something for me, but couldn’t until the September issue. I suppose I should take what I can get, right?
Here’s the hardest part; it needs to be somewhere between 450-700 words. And, it’s to compare the two mustangs, Sunny and Quiet Storm. But how can I do that in so few words? I’m a wordy person, after all, especially when it comes to my horses. But I got up early and began typing and editing this morning, and by the end of the weekend I should have something ready for them.
Then watch; they’ll not publish it! Oh, well….good experience, right? (Why am I already so pessimistic?)
Speaking of wild horses, here are some recent pictures of Jet and Sunny. Enjoy!
I’m so happy with the way Sunny is looking these days!
This is going to be fun to ride some day!
