Imagine the rich, creamy goodness of manure spread across your face…
No? Not into it? Let’s examine the benefits before you make such a hasty decision…
Here in dairy country, we have liquid manure which is sprayed over the pastures and reeks to high heaven. We like to say, “Mmmmm, smells like ice cream!” when we drive past such things.
Mmmm…Ice Cream!
Please excuse the blur, this was a drive by shooting…

You like ice cream, don’t you? Of course you do! But to make ice cream, you need manure. The manure is spread on the fields to grow the grass so the cows can eat and make the milk which is turned into ice cream. So manure must be good, right?
Manure is what comes out of the back end of your livestock. You feed your livestock well, don’t you? You place the manure in a compost bin or pile, and then you spread it on your crops, your flower beds and your lawns. You call it fertilizer, but it is, of course, manure. It’s full of rich nutrients and minerals and enhances the soil so the plants can grow. Plants such as tomatoes, peas, and yummy summer corn. You eat this stuff…this stuff is good. And it’s grown with…what? Manure!
Which is why when I go out to take care of my critters, I try extra hard to have some of that stuff splatter up onto my face each morning. I clean it out of feed buckets and water troughs, and then I wipe the hair from my face and spread a little manure at the same time. When the ground is wet and sloppy, the horses help me out by racing past and splashing me with manure and mud so that I may reap the benefits of their carefully crafted blend. Yes, it smells funny, but you get used to it. Plus, no pain no gain, right? And I know how well that manure makes the plants grow, so it must be great for skin cell regeneration, right? My horses must know that, too, as they’re getting darned good at packing the stuff onto my face in the mornings…
And with that thought in mind, my horses and I would like to offer you stock in our new product, the Mud~N~Manure facial. Anyone care for a sample jar???
So funny but having lived on the West side, I remember it to be all to true.
